"If you know me, then you know that I have a history of experiencing absent seizures. Despite these seizures, I’ve held down a job, owned my own home, and I'm a huge epilepsy advocate through my Epilepsy Lifestyle Blog. It can be a lot, don't get me wrong, but I love it!

    

Up until about two years ago, my seizures were quick, and people could hardly tell when I was having one. That's the ideal situation for anyone battling epilepsy! However, things started to change, as they do with anything in life. They became more intense and lasted longer. Some even knocked me to the floor.

    

In June of 2025, I had a VNS device implanted. It would take a year to tune it to my body, but hopefully it would stop more of the intense seizures. I am very happy with my decision, as it seems to be helping after seven months.

   

Despite the new device, I was still falling. My mom found these Ribcap hats that I can wear at work or while doing chores. I tried one on, and it has worked wonders for me. When I fall with it on, I can barely feel a thing. The next thing I knew, another one was at my door: the beanie! Wearing that in the snow, I fell and felt nothing.

   

Of course, I would love to stop falling. But in the meantime, it's nice to have a Ribcap while I battle my seizures. Ribcaps are awesome!"
